Corrupturas are small crystalline entities[1] created by Vladats and spat out of their mouths.
Biology[]
Corrupturas are small diamond-shaped creatures with a large singular eye, small horns, and black bat-like wings.
Althrough they traditionally have red skin and purple eyes, Corrupturas can come in other colors. For example, Whampire's Corrupturas have green skin and light green eyes.
Powers and abilities[]
When spat out by a Vladat, a Corruptura affixes itself on the forehead of a being, thus giving the Vladat control of that being. Corrupturas have been effective on other races from the Anur System, such as Transylians, Thep Khufans, Loboans, and Ectonurites.
Other species that Corrupturas are effective on include Revonnahganders, Merlinisapiens, Splixsons, Polymorphs, Sonorosians, Crystalsapiens, To'kustars, Galvanic Mechamorphs, Piscciss Premann (such as Kraab), Arburian Pelarotas, Ventrilosquid's Species, and even undead beings.[1]
To control Earth vampires like Dracula, Vladats would need their strongest Corrupturas.[1] To control possessed inanimate objects such as Chucky, the possessor's consciousness would have to be continued within the object they are inhabiting.[2]
Corrupturas can be used as projectile weapons.[1]
Although Corruptura victims are still conscious and aware of their actions, they have no control over their physical body, basically becoming an unwilling puppet.
Weaknesses[]
Corrupturas are useless against Ectonurites if the latter become intangible. They are also useless against cybernetically-enhanced beings such as Exo-Skull because of their armor.
It is possible Corrupturas are unable to control Florauna depending on their willpower.[1]
Corrupturas cannot attach themselves to a species with slippery skin, such as Ickthyperambuloids[1] and Hobble's Species.
Corrupturas can be destroyed by intense heat, such as that generated by Pyronites, Prypiatosian-Bs,[1] and Atomix's Species.
Corrupturas are unable to control an entire set of Splixson clones because each clone is an independent being. Furthermore, they will not be copied across said clones.[1]
Corrupturas are unable to control other beings using Ventilosquid's Species because that is not ventriloquism. They are also unable to control entities like Dagon.[1]
Corrupturas are ineffective on cybernetically-enhanced beings such as Exo-Skull.
Notes[]
- A Corruptura appears to provide a link between a victim's mind and a Vladat. However, it is unclear whether the Corrupturas themselves are a symbiotic species or merely an aspect of the Vladats' biology, possibly an anatomically-independent organ.
- It is confirmed that the Omnitrix from the Ben 10 reboot contains Vladat DNA.[3] Therefore, Corrupturas, and by extension Vladats, must also exist in that continuity.
