The Convict’s Species is unnamed species that the Convict belonged to, hailing from a distant galaxy.

Biology[]

The species were six-foot-eight humanoids. They had goblin-shaped heads and insect-like mouth with mandibles. Their hands and the flesh exposed had the natural color of charcoal color, almost green in places, like an insect or shellfish. Compared to humans, the humanoid figure was the only common physical trait they shared. Females were said to possess milk-feeders, similar to human women. Male anatomy was physically similar enough for sexual recreation with a human female. And their metabolism was compatible ingesting beer.

History[]

Years ago a single member of this species arose in notoriety by being the most vile galactic convict that terrorized all civilized space and would be known as the Convict. Originally the Convict had taken pleasure in hunting small game on distant planets. Its early forays into becoming a deranged serial killer was when it stalked a herd of Ortonix, targeting a mother and her four calves. When they were separated from the herd, the Convict wasted no time time in crippling the mother, and forced her to watch how it mutilated her children each one given a slow death.

When the species military came into conflict with rogue terrorist colonies and neighboring civilization, the Convict later became a member of the military of its homeworld in order to gain its need for violence. The Convict found it received more thrill from killing intelligent beings. Eventually its stint in the defense forces ended, relieving the Convict of that lust for violence. It attempted to reenlist but was rejected by a recruitment officer. The officer became the Convict's first murder and then soon followed by a neighbor who the Convict believed was trying to steal from it.

Soon enough the Convict realized that it did not need a motive to justify the deaths. Having found a certain peace, the Convict abandoned all civility and began killing everyone around him, until its death count numbered in the hundreds on its home planet. Later it moved from one planet to another, seeking out new victims from other races. At first its moved with stealth, but later discarded that tactic for all out murder. It was eventually caught by its people and sentence to a prison colony.

The confinement was short-lived as it triggered a prison break, killing many guards and fellow prisoners, stealing a ship and raiding the armory. For years it traveled its home galaxy, continuing its blood path of murder. Among its victims were intergalactic marshals sent to capture it to bring it to justice to face public execution.

After so many years of failing, the marshals managed to track the Convict to the distant Milky Way Galaxy. They managed to damage their quarry's ship forcing it to crash on a planet. Upon being found on the planet, the Convict surrendered to the three alien marshals. The marshals brought their captive to their vessel, securing it in a cell with its weapons and armor stripped from it.

They were making way back to their galaxy, when the vessel began to encounter various malfunctions. The planet in which the Convict crashed on was no accident as it was home to a mineral that would gradually eroded the engines of the ship when the engines were active. Whilst the marshals tried to keep their ship together, the Convict, broke out of its cell, and proceeded to butcher and kill its captors.

Still the vessel proved to be too damaged, forcing the Convict to navigate it to the nearest habitable world, Earth. It crashed its newly claimed vessel in the Colorado forests. The Convict seeing that there was intelligent life on the planet, then decided to make itself at home by hunting the local intelligent lifeforms. Its first victim was a fishing hobbyist near a lake which he killed using acid. The next victims were a group of campers in the woods, who he slaughtered and used Grind Worms to torture. And next a jogger which it killed using a repurposed medical drone. Upon accessing one of the humans smartphones, the alien gained an understanding of human culture and began to make plans to make the area its killing zone, hoping to draw more attention to draw out the law enforcement to begin a challenge.

The next batch of targets was a group of cabins, belonging to some friends who decided to camp there for vacation, and one belonging to a disgraced forced police officer. After the officer and the two members of the group left to investigate the whereabouts of the first victim that the Convict killed, the alien murdered proceeded to kill one of the humans left behind when he was relieving himself. Next he targeted a human woman, who it proceeded to take advantage of before killing her.

When the party returned back to the cabins, after having found the corpses and space vessel, they were horrified to find the slaughter at their home. Due to the alien blocking all phone communications, they were on their own. One of the campers managed to send out a message out via a satellite connection, alerting the local sheriff and his deputies. By the time they arrived only the former police officer and chemist were alive. The law enforcers were hesitant to believe any of their wild stories, until one of the deputies blew his foot on a trap. The alien after being wounded, from its initial fight returned to slaughter the sheriff and his deputies, forcing the two remaining survivors to flee to the spacecraft.

As it so happened one of the marshals was not yet dead, and was barely clinging to life out of sheer will to bring the Convict to justice. Through the humans assistance it managed to receive much needed medical help, and agreed to assist them in killing the Convict. One of the humans decided to use herself as bait, knowing its sick perversion towards the other sex. They trio crafted a scenario where the other human was supposedly killed by a trap laid by the Convict, and the woman was being hysterical at her friend's death. The plan was to ambush the Convict, and the ruse nearly worked though the murdered senses something was amiss, and activated the security on the ship, causing both alien and human to flee.

Out in the open the marshal and Convict, engaged in physical combat, though victory laid in the latter. It then proceeded to attack the remaining humans, but soon was distracted when the female attack it. Its distraction costed the criminal its life when the other human with the assistance of the dying marshal shot a plasma blast into the skull of the alien, ending its reign of terror.

Culture[]

Like any civilization, members of the species had options to contribute to the whole. Some members picked construction, some went into medical study and research, some pursued exploration and observation for a grander understanding of the universe. Some chose caretaking, for civility was crucial to a flourishing society. Equally as crucial was security, both in law enforcement, and the military.

The species had its taboos such as copulating with any other species. Other criminal acts like murder were not tolerated and crimes such as rape was viewed as unforgivably evil.

In regards to humans, from a criminal deviant’s perspective humans were a confused lot separated in different sects, and in open arms on sexual identity. Which the alien regarded as to humans having too much time on their hands in contriving such issues.
