Coneheads are a subspecies of cone-headed Cybertronian Seekers from the planet Cybertron.

Biology[]

While also being a subgroup of Decepticons, Conheads consider themselves a species unto themselves.

Anatomy[]

Coneheads share a similar biology to other Cybertronians Seekers except they have a distinctive transformation which leaves the jet nosecone pointing up. They also typically feature more distinct parts between individuals, which helps to better differentiate them from each other.

Certain Coneheads are given uniform color schemes, with Warrior Seekers being colored purple, Heavy Weapon Seekers being red, and Elite Seekers being black

Powers and abilities[]

Conheads share many of the same abilities as other Cybertronian Seekers, such as being capable of flight in both robot and vehicle mode.

Coneheads bristle with an arsenal of high-tech weaponry, with their primary weapon being a pair of arm-mounted null rays capable of stopping any electronic device with one shot, be it a mindless machine or another Cybertronian.

Besides null rays, Coneheads are equipped with an arsenal of deadly laser-guided missiles, lasers, cluster bombs, and even lethal vibro-claws.

Coneheads such as Dirge and Thrust are masters of using sound to their advantage, as they can producing sonic booms that instill fear in the audio receptors of their enemies. Cruising at Mach 6, their victims can hear their coming from 200 miles away.

Coneheads are immensely durable, possibly more than regular Seekers. For example, Ramjet can survive midair collisions in which he rams opponents with the cone-like tip of his heads.

Culture and society[]

Conheads share a similar culture to other Cybertronian Seekers, being are always obedient, determined, and ruthless. While they generally serve as airborne shock troopers in the Decepticon army, incarnations of Ramjet, Dirge, Thrust, and Afterburner are alternatively affiliated with the Mercenaries.

Warrior Seekers are often deployed in sniper positions on high buildings, using blasters and red-beam sniper shots to harass ground-based Autobots. Heavy Weapon Seekers prefer to launch missiles and other explosive ordinance from behind energy shields. Elite Seekers specialize in lightning-fast melee combat, evident by the swords they wield.

Notes[]

  • The Conehead design featured in Transformers: Cyberverse is a robust and streamlined version of the "Generation 1" Conehead design, featuring wings similar to Generation 1 Ramjet's and turbines similar to Generation 1 Thrust's.
    • While Ramjet and Dirge share this design in the Cyberverse cartoon, Thrust instead uses a recolor of the standard male Seeker design. Coincidentally, the Seeker Scouts featured in the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game are "standard" Seekers utilizing Thrust's red and black coloration.
    • Due to Thrust's non-conehead design in Cyberverse, the Japanese version would refer to the character as Red Wing after the similarly colored Seeker from Generation 1-related media.
  • When asked if there was a significant reason for Thurst's non-conehead design in Cyberverse, story editor Randolph Heard replied "not yet."[1]
    • Fans rather wishfully interpreted this as meaning a future story might explain it only for it to, unsurprisingly, not happen. However, Afterburner would later appear on the show as a Conehead.
