Combatrons are a subspecies of military fighter jet-themed Cybertronians from the planet Cybertron. Upon exposure to Angolmois Energy, they are reformatted into freakish fusions of animal and machine known as Cyborg Beasts.

Biology[]

While also being a subgroup of Predacons, Combatrons consider themselves a species unto themselves.

Anatomy[]

Combatrons share a similar biology to other Cybertronians, except they transform into military fighter jets. Upon being reformatted into Cyborg Beasts, their alternate modes are changed to cybernetically-enhanced animals.

Powers and abilities[]

Combatrons share many of the same abilities as other Cybertronians.

As Cyborg Beasts, Combatrons are more powerful than in their former incarnations.

Culture and society[]

Combatrons share a similar culture to other Cybertronians. Rather than act as a team who work together, they prefer to operate as pairs who work separately. For example, Starscream and BB are elitists with exacting standards and ambitious schemes whereas Dirge and Thrust are unreliable slackers who cannot take anything seriously.

Each pair of Combatrons competes to outshine the other in the eyes of their Emperor of Destruction. As a result, they tend to exert a greater effort in sabotaging each other than in engaging the enemy. As for the Maximals, they are perfectly happy to let the Combatrons cancel each other out in battle.

As Cyborg Beasts, Combatrons are freakish technorganic fusions of animal and machine that are stronger and more powerful than in their previous forms.

Notes[]

  • The Combatrons are named after the Japanese name for the Combaticons in most Generation 1-related media.
  • With the exception of BB, all of the Combatrons are named after Seekers featured in other Transformers continuities.
  • Untite from the Japanese End of G1 Universe comic is modeled after Jawbreaker, a Transmetal 2 Maximal from the Beast Wars toyline, but with the design being repurposed as a Cyborg Beast.
