The Cimilope is a race of "jackalope" like animals that can be encountered on several planets of the galaxy.

They are medium-sized creatures with large ears, and a small set of horns on top of their heads. Wild races of the Cimilope still exist throughout the galaxy, with many adaptations to protect themselves against predators, which include three-clawed arms and small antlers to ram predators and possibly rival males.
Notably, the only true difference between civilized Cimilopes and their prehistoric race is that their elephantine-like trunks are much longer in wilder specimens. This is possibly because wild Cimilopes needed a stronger sense of smell to find food, whereas modern-day, sapient Cimilopes no longer had a need of such a strong sense. As such, modern beings have a more flattened face.
Civilizations of Cimilopes still have the same horns and claws of their prehistoric ancestors, but both features aren't used in combat as prominently, and it is possible that these will "devolve" overtime.
