The Chillyhop is a subterranean species of Amphituber that was discovered by the Rescue Corps expedition to the planet PNF-404.

Biology[]

Chillyhops, while strongly resembling the Yellow Wollywog and Fiery Yellow Wollywog in appearance, is distinguishable for its blue hued skin and cold body temperature. This is later found to result from an internal bodily fluid mixture containing ammonium nitrate, urea, and water, which is released upon impact with the ground whenever the Chillyhop feels threatened. Juveniles of the species have yet to be discovered, in contrast to other species.

Behavior[]

For many years, the exact feeding behavior of Wollywogs in general had been mainly inconclusive, but studies of the Chillyhop's hunting behavior have shed light on the subject: The Chillyhop's main method of hunting is squashing its prey underneath its heavy body, in similar manor to the protective behaviors of most wollywogs. However, once it manages to do so, its bodily secretions freeze its prey in place, and the organic material is absorbed through the underside. This discovery is believed to also be true to other wollywog species.

As an addition to freezing its prey, the Chillyhop is capable of storing its prey for days at a time, making it well adapted to areas where prey is usually not in abundance.
