Mind-Transferring Species

Species which have the ability to transfer their consciousness, minds or memories into the body of another being. This process can be temporary or permanent, and whether the alien consciousness switches places with, suppresses or coexists with the host's original self varies from case to case. Some species may use this power to circumvent death.

Usually distinct from mind-controlling species, as mind-transferring species need to leave their original bodies behind to move into a new body. In some cases, however, it is possible for a species to have both these abilities.
