Cascans are a race of liquid-based aliens from Cascareau, an aquatic planet in the Andromeda Galaxy.
Biology
Anatomy
Cascans are aquatic creatures enclosed in red, orange, or gold biomechanical suits of armor made of Serpent Glass that are decorated with tubes and containers filled with water.
Powers and abilities
Similar to Orishan, Cascans possess hydrokinetic abilities, being able to shoot pressurized jets of water from their hands as means of attack. In the case of Omni-Enhanced Cascans, they can shoot out larger amounts of water from the large cannons on their backs. They can also generate blades or whips using their water.
Cascans can breathe underwater and swim at high speeds with amazing agility.
Cascans possess enhanced durability due to their biomechanical armor, and are capable of withstanding strong water pressure. For Omni-Enhanced Cascans, their natural durability increases thanks to their rock-like armor.
Cascans can manipulate different states of matter.[1]
Cascans have a small degree of cryokinesis, as they can create sculptures made of ice.[1] In the case of Omni-Enhanced Cascans, they can use their back cannons to create walls of ice or encase objects inside a layer of ice.
Cascans are able to harden water into a protective exoskeleton.[2]
Due to the alterations Kevin Levin has made to the Antitrix, Undertow is more powerful than ordinary Cascans. He also possesses a form of terrakinesis that can cause the ground beneath his opponents to turn into mud.
Omni-Enhanced Cascans can channel electricity through the water they fire out of their back cannons. They can also use their cannons to release strong gusts of air.
Weaknesses
If a Cascan shoots water at an electric device, they will be shocked by the electrified water.
Cascans can accidentally cause a flood in confined spaces if they release too much water at once.
Despite the durability of their Serpent Glass armor, Cascans can still feel pain when facing an enemy with sufficient strength. Likewise, they are vulnerable to being lifted and manhandled by a species with as much strength as a Chimera Sui Generis or an Appoplexian.
Cascans can be affected by magic, as there is a spell that can constrain them in midair.
Cascans can easily tire out if they exert too much physical activity at one time.
Culture and society
Cascans dwell beneath the waves of Cascareau, avoiding the many perils of its surface from torrential hurricanes to pirates. They hunt for Serpent Glass collected from the spires that dot the horizon.
Language
Cascans speak with a slightly muffled echo in their voices.

Notes
- The Cascans are genetically related to the Orishans, as both as red sapient hydrokinetic species hailing from the Andromeda Galaxy. However, both races are considered separate species, their differences being likened to those of panthers and jaguars.[1]
- Duncan Rouleau is a fan of both Overflow and Water Hazard for different reasons, yet prefers Overflow for his simplicity.[1]
- The Cascans were created for the reboot because the crew liked characters with water-based powers and wanted to create a new spin on an alien with those abilities.[3]
- During pre-production, their home plant was planned to be named Orishan, a name that was previously used for another species. However, they would eventually receive a unique name for their planet with the release of the Alien Worlds shorts.
- A YouTube video released by the official Ben 10 Brazil channel and the Ben 10 Handbook both refer to Overflow as an Orishan from the planet Kiusana. Of course, this information is incorrect as both media mistakenly believe that Overflow is the same character as Water Hazard.
- An Omni-Enhanced Cascan's water cannons resemble pieces of Fulmini technology.
- Had Omni-Kix Cascans appeared on-screen during season 4 of the reboot, their armor would possibly match the suits used by regular Cascans on Cascareau.[1]
- Despite only appearing in the reboot continuity, Cascans have been confirmed to exist in the original Ben 10 continuity.[1] However, it is currently unknown whether Overflow's DNA is available the Omnitrix as of Omniverse.
