The Candypop Bud is a special kind of flower located on PNF-404.

Biology

These strange flowers are able to reproduce Pikmin much like the Onion can do, but with a different method of doing so. If a Pikmin falls into the center of the flower, it will quickly close and re-release the Pikmin as a seed matching the same color as the petals on the plant. It does have a limit though and will wear out if this limit is exceeded. For some species of Pikmin, namely the Purple Pikmin and White Pikmin, this is their only means to reproduce.

According to some study note, this could be a possible relative to the Pikmin, and perhaps the next step in Pikmin evolution.

Notes

• While its official scientific name is "Flora expellus", the strategy guide proposed "Blossomulus pikminius", however this is unofficial.
• Since different Pikmin colors are considered individual species and Candypops are able to change a Pikmin's color to match its own, it's possible that this flower has gene manipulation properties.
