Bunker Spiders are very large insect-like creatures known throughout the Thistle Nebula. According to historical records, the ancestors of the Bunker Spider arrived on these moons during human exploration through the Thistle Nebula, and over several hundred years evolved into the current species.

Anatomy[]

It is the largest known arachnid in the genus Theraphosa, and the second largest arachnid ever discovered. Its body strongly mirrors an average spider of Earth, but its legs are varying in length and reach, with six of these legs an average size while the other three legs extend outside twice as long (this leaves Bunker Spiders with 12 legs instead of 8). Its eyes are small, and situated directly at the front of the head, just above its mandibles.

Behavior[]

Having evolved from ground hunting spiders such as tarantulas, the Bunker Spider evolved much larger, and is able to hunt down much larger prey than its ancestors. Like earth spiders they're capable of creating silk, and as such leave vast sprawls of webbing wherever they reside in. These webs were designed like traps, and when a prey item gets caught in one of them, the bunker spider closes in and kills the trapped creature. After fully capacitating it, the bunker spider brings its meal back to its nest, wrapping it in silk.
