Edgar Rice Burroughs was one of the grandfathers of science fiction, so his races definitly deserve a place here :D
I dont know if the pellucidar races count though, since they are from the center of the earth in a speculative version of the earth.
No Net At Home
Just to let people know, my net won't let me connect to the Internet at home for some reason, and hasn't for a couple of days now. Here are a few pages to investigate that I have not been able to find pages to on the main wikia for the universe, Wookieepedia. I bring these to your attention in case any happen to be fanon, in which case I suggest moving to either Alien Fanon Wiki or my own Creativity Wiki. Keep in mind that there is another Star Wars wiki that I have not checked - Star Wars: The Old Republic Wiki. I am 3 hours late to start my Mass Effect 3 play schedule today and so haven't taken the time to peruse there yet, but you may wish to do so in my absence. Alien Fanon Wiki
We have still been moving articles written as fanon placed here to Alien Fanon Wiki. The only thing is, whoever took it over recently has killed it and brought it back down to be specifically based off the Alien universe. Therefore, we need to create a new fanon wiki to continue doing this. For those interested, I will also be pulling back my own fanon written there to my own personal wikia, Creativity Wiki. 10,000th Edit!
As you surely have guessed by the title of this blog, I just got the achievement for our 10,000th edit since adding achievements to this wikia. Why Stop Making AvP Games
Why has the creatiors of AvP (Alien vs Preator) stopped making video games of AvP for the X-Box 360? My guess is that nobody plays online on the game. But i have joined a clan dedacated to AvP a few people still play the game but not as many as they used to. So go out there and PLAY and hopefuly they'll make more games.

Article Comments -- Yes or no?
Recently BlueFrackle stated that he would be interested in having article comments on the wiki. As I am strongly against it, I am here to provide the cons while he will provide the pros for you.
My list of cons:
- Hard to follow conversations. Exactly what it sounds like, conversations previously discussed may be accidentally discussed again. Without topics on the comments, it's painful to wade through dozens of comments to find what I'm looking for.
- Unprofessional. In Wikia Staff's recent string of "social site" releases, they have been making what is supposed to be a specific online encyclopedia into a social site. This is not facebook, this is wikia.
- It makes admins and bureaucrats seem like average users. Admins always had a sense of authori…

Glitch Problems
Anyone else out there having problems with the wikia editing pane? A few days ago I noticed that the search results when typing into the search bar was appearing behind everything else, and that was....obnoxious but bypassable (simply by continuing to type). However, today when I logged on and prepared to continue editing galleries for Star Wars species (specifically illustrated aerial species), I found there to be no tabs for the "Source Mode" against the "Visual Mode"; I can't edit galleries in Visual Mode at all, and I feel as if the search bar problem was happening at home as well as at work, so I'm a little worried about it. 3,333 pages!
We've finally hit 3,333 pages, with today's addition of two Bespin species - the Airborne Algae Sack and the Airsquid! When I arrived here, there was less than 700 pages; possibly even less than 200 (it's been a long while and the actual number has become somewhat foggy over the years). We're coming along great so far, but we still have a long ways to go! Keep up the excellent work, everyone! I realise a while ago some one had to comepletely re- write the article Nebari cos i made alot of mistakes on it (mostly due to the fact i got most of the informtion from Wikipedia) so i watching the Farscape series again in response to the message they sent me.
Christmas Plans
I don't exactly celebrate Christmas (or any holiday), but I am not sure I will be able to get into my building at work to work all weekend. Therefore, I am setting up plans for what I should work on this weekend if I happen to be home. It should be noted though that I intend to spend a majority of the time I'd be home playing Mass Effect, as opposed to overhauling this page, simply because I want to beat both games in the series before Mass Effect 3 comes out, and on a normal day I can only go through one or two planets, if secondary missions; most days I do not have time after work for a single plot-based planet.

Gallery Addition Plans (12-09-11)
I try to add something every day although since my job has taken over much of my life I simply have not had the time. It'd help however to have a basic guideline to follow, which I usually just have in a document but since I'm bored and want something to do in my downtime, I thought I'd make a blog about it.
Since we now have 26 separate galleries for alien species, I thought I would perhaps add something per subsection of each letter, instead of just one per letter. This will take some time of course but hey, I've got a weekend coming up anyway. From what I'm staring at right now, here's my list I plan to work on this weekend, though I don't expect to get all finished - like I said, it's just a guideline. Keep in mind I took one from each …

I am at work currently so I'm only doing the minor things I can get by with between short downtimes and such, but I was just in the Character Gallery and it is looking like it, like the Alien Species Gallery before it, is about ready for a splitting as well. Week's plan(s)
As I have this week off from work, I am playing through Mass Effect 1 (I was intending to beat it in a day since I was at the end of it...but I guess my ex had chosen to delete my save, so I got to start all over again, whooptie-doo). This fits in with Alien Species Wikia too, however -- I will be adding the information pulled straight from the codex for the various races and such here on the wikia. I'll probably do Salarians followed by Asari, and then the Krogan, Geth, Elcor, Volus, Hanar, Quarians, Protheans, Rachni, Keepers, Batarians, Husks, Thresher Maws, Varren, and then I'll see what I can come up with from there. Weekday Plans
I am going to see what I can do about adding in more letter galleries (such as the already-existing Alien Species Gallery (A) and B) this week. Since my weekdays are spent at work and all that, you certainly cannot expect me to finish the entire lettering, but I can work on it during my lunch breaks and downtime and such. But I'll see if I can't finish one a day at least (which would put us down to Alien Species Gallery (G)). Either way, though, I will definitely try working on it. Need Help with Wikia Coding
I am curious if anyone knows the coding to create a space within a subsection so that the next subsection to follow only begins after everything from the last subsection is shown? I could have sworn that it was { clear } (but with two brackets), but apparently it is not and I cannot find any information on it on Google. I know I filled it out recently on a few articles I've worked on but I work on several wikias and do not know exactly where or even exactly when it was that I did that, so that does not really help me, with hundreds of articles under my belt in the last few weeks.

We now have badges! You have me to thank for the suggestion, and Owen1983 for the implementation. The wikia has been improved -- and that's saying something, because, personally, I think it's the best wikia around (whether original wikipedia beats it or not is arguable)! I don't know about you guys, but I'm excited. Keep in mind everyone, that work from before the achievement badges were implemented do not count towards the badge progress - you will need to keep up the good work to get them from here on out.

Badges?
I was curious if the rest of the administration staff and even the users would like us to try and add badges - aka achievements - to the wikia, as is featured on some of the other wikias on the server (examples I know of being Conker Wiki, Invader Zim Wiki and Marvel Database Wiki). We have 36 active contributors this month, but badges could always encourage more contributions, and we still have thousands (if not hundreds of thousands lol) of articles to add still. I currently know where to request having a wikia gain the badge system and while not the original creator of the wikia, I am a bureaucrat so hopefully we could do something about it. Wikia Skin "Wordmark"/Logo
This wiki doesn't have a logo/wordmark for the wikia skin. It should be up to 250x65 pixels and must be a .png file. If we had a Wide logo from the days of Quartz and the original Monaco, we could have easily used that, but we don't, so we're going have to make a new one.
