This unnamed ichthyoid species strongly resembled Earth Psychrolutes marcidus, more commonly known as blobfish.
Biology[]
Members of this species are ichthyoids who strongly resemble blobfish, with bulbous, gelatinous bodies with pale pink skin. They bear semi-humanoid faces, with two small eyes, a large nose, and a perpetually frowning mouth, which appears to have small, sharp teeth within it. Unlike blobfish, they lack fins, instead only having a tail. In addition, they appear to be able to survive in an Earth-like atmosphere, at least for some time, implying that their gelatinous appearance is their true one, not the result of decompression damage. Internally, they have reddish muscle tissue. They can also survive after having extremities cut off, such as their tails, with no visible sign of pain from such injuries. While they appear non-sapient, not thrashing around or otherwise trying to escape from being cut up for food or when danger is present, they have also been known to make sounds resembling Human speech, such as "oi," when struck. If struck, their bodies are known to absorb the force, acting as a cushion and deforming at the point of impact before going back to their original form, with no visible bruises.
History[]
At some point in or prior to 2012, members of this species were illegally taken to Earth under orders of a semi-humanoid gastropod-like alien named Mr. Wu, so that they could be served as food in his Chinese-styled restaurant. In 2012, Mr. Wu was investigated by Agent K and Agent J, two Human agents of the Men in Black (MIB), for his sale of alien foodstuffs. Entering the kitchen, Agent K noticed the blobfish-like creature, calling it "Bob," and citing Bob's presence as a direct violation of MIB Health Ordinance 32, the sale of unlicensed extraterrestrial foodstuffs. Bob was ready to be cooked alongside a Spikey Bulba, a giant catfish-like creature, and various other alien fish, with his tail already cut off, although he appeared to show no pain or desire to escape. Later, a shootout began between the agents and several alien assassins hired by a Boglodite named Boris the Animal, with K entering the kitchen to clear it of threats. In the kitchen, K was attacked by a malleable-head chef, who made K blast the catfish alien's tank open. K then grabbed the chef, and slammed him into Bob, who responded with "oi." It is unknown what became of Bob afterwards.
