The Berserk Leech Hydroe is, normally, a harmless species of plant on PNF-404, but during Captain Olimar's Sparklium expedition, one of these plants became extremely hostile due to part of both the Leech Hydroe and one of Captain Olimar's ship parts being lodged within it.

Appearance

Unlike other creatures found on the planet, but similar to some lifeforms in other universes, this plant-like creature has been shown to alter its physical form overtime, namely during Captain Olimar's encounter with it:

Buried Form

The first form seen, this is the most plant-like the Berserk Leech Hydroe has been observed to take form of: most of its body buried underground, its back is covered in small sprouts of plants. It hosts three heads, each one resembling a Venus-flytrap in vague resemblance. Their necks are made up of stalks with thorns lining its length.

Quadrupedal Form

Its lower body is the form it takes when removing itself from the ground. This form shows its lower body, which is the main tuber and root system of the creature, being supported by a set of brown, sturdy legs. Each foot has four toes, each toe aimed in a different direction in a star-like structure, armored like an insect.

Flight Form

The "final form" of the Berserk Leech Hydroe, this form only has one head as two of the three heads wither away in favor of four insect-like wings. It also only has one pair of legs with talons, similar to a bird.

Behavior

While this species of plant is normally harmless, the one encountered by Olimar is noted to go into a hostile state thanks to the "Sparklium Converter" lodged into it, causing its parasitic tendencies to go out of control.

Abilities

While able to transform during a fight, the Berserk Leech Hydroe is purely a poisonous creature through and through. Its most notable ability is to release a series of poisonous liquid orbs that explode on the ground, covering up creatures and killing plant life (and Pikmin).

It is also noted of surprisingly advanced forms of weaponry, in the form of a laser-like beam of poison it gains when in its final form.
