The Barburians are a sapient species from the planet Barbu in the Meteroa Universe.

The Barburians are a insectoid race, resembling humanoid moths. Due to their planet's low gravity they are able to move beyond the confines of their planet.
History[]
The Barburians enough newly inducted into the Intergalactic Alliance, have refused to allow trade through the Calvonell System, especially with an alien businessman known as the Client. Despite his many appeals, they have persistently refused his offers due to his resemblance to Bugutu.
The Client contracted Alena Kuznetsova (Meteroa) and her crew to deliver a million energy cubes to bride the Barburian Senate. However Ziggy, one of Meteora's crew mates discovered that the package was actually a baby black hole that the Client planned to use on the Barbu to remove their legal authority over the system. Meteroa managed to remove the baby black hole using the mass of a pursuing ship.
Using the Barburians lack in knowledge of technology, Meteroa staged the images of the gods Bugutu and Mbutu having an argument over the trade agreement with other worlds. The Barburians witnessed the two gods in conflict, ending with Mbutu disowning his son making the Barburians reconsider their previous stance.
Culture[]
The Barburians are an extremely superstitious species. Religion prevents them from fully embracing more contemporary notions of the universe. They have limited knowledge on technology, and as a result have yet to build a space vessel.
