The Ba'Kar are a species native to the Luxan homeworld.

Biology[]

Ba'Kar are large omnivorous creatures. They are quadrupedal animals with large fangs from their lower jaws. They stand at 1.5 to 2 meters at the shoulder and can reach a length of 3-4 meters long. Ba'Kar have a very strong sense of smell and are able to track a target at 10 meters, and 20 meters if they are upwind.

They were domesticated by the Luxans cycles ago to act as mounts during their war campaigns. Ba'Kar are ferocious fighters that are loyal to their trainer and can travel on nearly any terrain. Their loyalty comes from bonds Luxans forged with the creatures at youth and it is rare for Luxans to mistreat them.

As technology developed Ba'Kar were retired from use except for a few modern battlefields. Ba'Kar are still used by solitary Luxans such as bounty hunters as mounts for hunts. Ba'Kar still exist in the wild of the Luxan homeworld though avoid contact with humanoids.

Ba'Kar can be used as guards animals though such training is deemed expensive and impractical. The creatures do appear on black markets and sold as gladiatorial animals for sport.
