The Awoken are a humanoid race that descended from baseline Humans.
Biology[]
The Awoken are a subspecies of humanity that were drastically changed by some phenomena. They possess pale blue or gray skin, with luminescent eyes. They seem to possess greater forms of mental abilities, such as being able to see visions of the futures in dreams.
History[]
The Awoken trace their origins to the humans that tried to escape the Collapse when the Darkness invaded the Sol System. They were changed when they encountered the void of space, whether it was done by the Darkness when it came or by the Traveler as a form of punishment is unknown. The ships that the Awoken escape in were destroyed becoming the Reef where the survivors created their own society.
Culture[]
The Awoken are led by a matriarchy and are highly isolationist. The Awoken that returned to Earth are regarded coldly by the Reef-born.
