Astrazoans are a species of shapechangers who inhabit the Pact Worlds. They are starfish-like creatures thought to be descendants of the extinct ilee, former natives of Apostae.

Biology[]

Anatomy[]

Astrazoans are seven-limbed starfish-like aliens, with a reptilian eye on each limb. Unlike starfish, they do not lie flat on the ground but instead stand on the tips of their limbs. They stand five to seven feet tall (~ 1.5 to 2.1 meters) and weigh between 120 and 160 pounds (~ 54 to 72 kg). They have soft flesh and a cartilaginous "skeleton", and can shape and color their bodies into the forms of nearly any other creature they have ever seen, as long as it is the same size as they are.

Diet[]

As astrazoans spend most of their lives disguised as humanoids, they presumably have the same omnivorous diet that Humans do.

Reproduction[]

Astrazoans can form both male and female reproductive organs, making them hermaphrodites. They usually develop a single, stable gender identity to better blend in with humanoids, but not always. Astrazoans reach maturity at the age of 16 and live for 80-120 years.

Culture and society[]

Astrazoans have no true society of their own. Instead, they live among the humanoid races of the Pact Worlds in assumed humanoid forms. Generally, they live in more cosmopolitan areas in order to better blend in, and are usually found far from their likely homeworld of Apostae.

Notes[]

  • Astrazoans first appeared in Starfinder Pact Worlds, released in 2018, as a possible player character race.
