The Artificial Sun is a destructive entity who showed up from out of nowhere to attack Metro City and confronts Astro Boy.

The Artificial Sun is an orange-skinned, gigantic one-eyed creature that has a circular body covered with numerous tentacles and it appears to lack having a mouth. It also can produce a powerful beam of energy. This alien hovers in midair and acts rather hostile.

- This creature bears an uncanny resemblance to Yivo. Though Yivo is the only member of Shkler species, so the two most likely have no relation.
- The Artificial Sun's eventual defeat is not shown (due to the film ending). Therefore, its fate remains unknown.
