The Ardentians are a species native to Ardannt.
Biology[]
Ardentians are a incredible ugly species. Individuals resemble lumpy piles from some junkyard, with angular protrusions jutting and bumps humping that gave them absolutely no aesthetic lines or appeal whatsoever. They have face looked like nothing so much as a bunch of sausages loosely tied together at one end and allowed to splay out at the other.
They have at least one limb appendage, and while there are no signs of any eyes, their sausage bunches at the ends had little shiny dots on the ends of the sausages which were possibly organic photoelectric sensors.
History[]
The Ardentians were one of the original alien settlers that came to colonize Altor after the Creons and Tarn. The Ardentians assisted in the building of Demeter City on Altor and constructed their own section, Mluck District. However shortly after it was built most of the Ardentians abandoned the area to return to their homeworld without explanation. Only a few Ardentians remained in Demeter City whilst their district declined becoming a ghetto for the city’s unwanted.
Culture[]
Little is known about mainstream Ardentian culture, however those that remained on Altor have been known to organize themselves in a community association. Though in truth it is little more than a cult composed of the lost and disenchanted members of Altor society. Ardentians at least mainstream ones say that they do not worship violent gods, have no threatening esoteric practices and do not sacrifice virgins or any other species of living being upon bloody altars. While they maintain to not worship any gods, they do refer their idols as spiritual beings and possess a number of them.
Ardentians do believe in an afterlife called the All within Even More, and services are held for the decease. They believe that the spirit of the dead after passing from the body mingles the living alongside the temple's incense here which will help it rise slowly to bask in the righteousness of the afterlife.
