While in the beginning of the movie the Antareans appear to be benevolent, providing younger species with advanced technology to defend themselves, the actual truth is far from that reality. The Antareans are ruthless race of galactic voyeurs that pit numerous planet against one another in their elimination tournaments. They force warriors from other worlds to battle each other for the fate of their worlds. Those that win survive and those that lose have their planet destroyed.
