The Annunaki are an advanced race of the Girru-Nusku binary system, possessing a society thoroughly dedicated to magic. Though hermaphroditic, Annunaki are universally treated as male. A century is a young age for Annunaki.

Anshar is ruled by the Governance de Magi, a circle of wizards representing one of every element. The exact system of promotion to being a member is unknown.
Annunaki spaceships are saucer shaped, enormous magical circles that are direct conduits to the elemental planes. The Annunaki are also advanced users of robotic technology, particularly the cybernetics of their slaves.
It's implied that there is some insecurity between the Annunaki and their Aruan neighbors over which species is more advanced.

The spirit of a recently dead Annunaki can linger in the physical plane for some time, potentially being able to transfer itself into a new body. The host's original consciousness can stay with them or be expelled, the latter being necessary if that person has a different element from the Annunaki's soul.
