Alvanian Bees are a species of presumably non-sapient creatures which live in large groups and build notoriously active beehives.
In 2373, Ferengi bartender and Deep Space 9 resident Quark looked forward to Bajor's admission into the Federation, claiming that the station would get busier than an Alvanian beehive. Unfortunately, the Bajorans' decision to join the Federation was delayed that year.
