The Aksellans are a species from Aksel Major.
Biology[]
The Aksellans are large, black and green, well-fed spiders. Females are indicated by their lack of markings. Aksellans possess five different silk-producing glands, originally used to convert excretory byproducts into snarewebs to capture prey. Their gastric juices enable them to make anything palatable. Children are born without mouths and only develop them after their first molting.
Culture[]
Over the centuries much of the species’ development was spent below the surface of their homeworld. Hence the arachnids evolved into natural miners. They are quite capable of dealing with the problems posed by asteroid mining, and have redefined tether technology.
Females are noted to be highly protective of their children, and would regard anything that moves as food even their mates.
