Aerialbots are a subspecies of aerial vehicle-themed Cybertronians from the planet Cybertron.

Biology[]

While also being a subgroup of Autobots, Aerialbots consider themselves a species unto themselves.

Anatomy[]

Aerialbots share a similar biology to other Cybertronians, except they transform into fighter jets and other aerial vehicles.

Powers and abilities[]

Aerialbots share many of the same abilities as other Cybertronians.

Select Aerialbots can combine to form a combiner known as Superion. Alternatively, Aerialbots can combine with other Cybertronians to form combiners such as Compurian, Galvatronus, Ultra Prime, Wreckage, and the Autobot Super Scramble.

Culture and society[]

Aerialbots are generally considered to be the mortal enemies of the Stunticons.

History[]

Aurex 1104.30-DB Zeta[]

According to Vector Prime, the TransTechs had been debating over whether this universe was a Primax-influenced Aurex universe or the other way around. Dr. Brian Jones attempted to reverse-engineer the Maximus combination technology and apply it to Mini-Cons.

These experiments resulted in the creation of the Micromaster combiners: the Aerialbots, the Protectobots, and the Railbots. However, the Decepticons stole this technology and used it to create their own Micromaster combiner, the Constructicons.

At some point, Superion battled Devastator alongside Defensor and Rail Racer during the Combiner Wars as the Unicron Singularity drew near.

Notes[]

  • According to unlockable concept art in the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game, the Aerialbot designs are based on Generation 1 Skydive, whilst taking cues from the character's "appearance" in Transformers: Autobots.
    • Additionally, the Aerialbot Scouts' colorations are collectively based on Generation 1 Skydive and Fireflight, whereas the Aerialbot Warrior's colorations are based on Generation 1 Slingshot.
  • The Aerialbot Scout design colored after Generation 1 Skydive is available in the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC versions of the Revenge of the Fallen game as a multiplayer-only playable character, known in-game as simply "Aerialbot". However, purchasing the DLC package can unlock the Aerialbot for the single-player Autobot campaign.
  • Sean Carmine Isabella, the senior designer of the 2015 Transformers: Robots in Disguise toyline, is a fan of the Generation 1 Aerialbots and came up with the idea for toy-only character Stormshot. As stated at HasCon 2017, Isabella wanted to give the 2015 Robots in Disguise toyline an Aerialbot-type character that was not just a transplant/redesign of an existing Aerialbot. Interestingly enough, Stormshot is explicitly referred to as an Aerialbot on his HasbroToyShop bio.[1]
