About real-life Earth animals[edit | edit source]

It has been brought to my attention that some people believe pages about Earth creatures should be deleted, others believe they should stay. This is a complicated matter, and I think there is room for discussion, so I will give my opinion, and I'm looking for other people's opinions.

We currently have pages about humans, cats, dogs, gorillas, dolphins, whales and even eels. I believe these pages are fine only as long as they should be focused on how these species are portrayed in science fiction, and also list down alien species that are related to, resemble and/or are clearly inspired by these animals.

So, for example, the human page currently has enormous sections about real-life governments, religions and exploration that are strongly limited to a real-world perspective, and not at all relevant to our wiki. I think this should be removed, and the page should be trimmed down to only include the "biology" and "in popular culture" sections. Likewise, other pages about real-life Earth creatures should also be about how they're portrayed in science fiction and alien-related media. I concur with your assessment Blue- nomad27

Improved Discussion Organization[edit | edit source]

Too many message wall threads recieve off-topic discussion, which is a disorganizing element for both of the topics brought up and chokes out the original. It is equally easy to just make a new thread when entering a new topic, giving very little excuse for this action.

I suggest that any discussion board post made after this ammendment passes should be deleted if it is not part of the established thread topic and that this rule should be made obvious from its start, and put on the front page's R&W King Kravoka (talk) 04:28, September 23, 2020 (UTC)
